You are The Emperor
Stability, power, protection, realization; a great person.
The Emperor is the great authority figure of the Tarot, so it represents fathers, father-figures and employers. There is a lot of aggression and violence too.
The Emperor naturally follows the Empress. Like an infant, he is filled with enthuiasm, energy, aggression. He is direct, guileless and all too often irresistible. Unfortunately, like a baby he can also be a tyrant. Impatient, demanding, controlling. In the best of circumstances, he signifies the leader that everyone wants to follow, sitting on a throne that indicates the solid foundation of an Empire he created, loves and rules with intelligence and enthusiasm. But that throne can also be a trap, a responsibility that has the Emperor feeling restless, bored and discontent.
What Tarot Card are You? Take the Test to Find Out. |

Brandy, and Tom got increasingly close-mouthed and sour. Although a certain sense of tripartite society survived down to Christian times, the three classes described in the Eddic poem "Rigdthula" bear little resemblance to Dumezil's three. It is often argued, and still oftener thought, that none but bad men would desire to weaken these salutary beliefs; and there can be nothing wrong, it is thought, in restraining bad men, and prohibiting what only such men would wish to practice. At its nearest point the wall was little more than one league from the City, and that was south-eastward. It was not always possible to get a view sufficiently distant for my taste, but the lighting was excellent. "Unusual name," I said, shaking his hand, "I'm Thursday Next." Why did you spend most of this conversation staring at a loudly ticking clock on the wall? Servo and Crow say their prayers. A heavenly being appeared to her and said "you are railing at the suffering which is being inflicted on you now.["] He'd been talked about for the presidency, before the party moved to the Goldwater right. Vic Lynn was counting four stitches to the corner of his left eye from another high stick from Warwick, who nicked him just as he had a great chance on goal. Alex aimed his light at each of us in turn. Pre-reform German spelling used space/no space to mark semantic distinctions. Powerful shoulder muscles rolled and bunched beneath skin burnished deep gold by the firelight. If you will not come slack of former services, you shall do well; the fault of it I shall answer. God help any of us if we break it . . . as I judge you're suggesting I should. All the inspectors seemed bewitched by the lovely, slim Chinese woman who was in such a hurry. However, this is to neglect a significant piece of history. |

I'm horribly pissed right now at some of our politicians. As you probobly already know, Belgium is a divided country. There are two large communities; the Dutch community and the French community (the German community also exists, but there's less than ten thousand of them). In general, the Dutch community lives in the north (Flanders), and the French lives in the south (Wallonia? I'm not sure how it's called in English)). Brussels, and the area around it, is bilingual (which in most cases means that the Dutch-speaking part speaks French). Now, Brussels doesn't quite lie in the centre of the country, but a little to the north. This means it lies squarely in Flanders. Now, a French politician has demanded (yes, demanded) that the two kilometer between Brussels and Wallonia becomes bilingual as well, to create a corridor. Now, that corridor would mean that I, and about half a million other Dutch-speaking people would be classed as billingual. Most (if not all) of us are already billingual. However, I'm extremely worried about our cultural identity if this were to happen. The fact that this strecht is Dutch only is the only thing that prevents French mass migration to this area as it stand. If this city was billingual, we would soon be overrun by French-speaking people, who would demand (they're good at that) to be adressed to in French alone, thus negating the whole point of having two langauges. Now, where does this minister get the guts to demand anything? Because Dutch politicians were outraged that the (French) minister of Justice refused to step down after 28 criminals escaped. (For comparison, five years ago, two Dutch ministers were forced to step down after one criminal escaped for half a day (after which he was caught).) |

| | "The Mayfly" - Millencolin | ] | Where to start? My granddad is in the hospital, because of a rupture in his knee. My grandma (who is dement and can't be expected to look after the house alone) is in the same room as him, so they can keep each other company. In the meanwhile, I've been picked to look after the house. It's just a few streets away, and on the whole I don't need to do much; feed the cat, water the plant and open and close the curtains. Their cat is a pain, though. It's loud, agressive, but whiny at the same time. Not at all like mine.
I also went shopping today, with my mom and mus. That was not fun at all. It meant getting up early, having to try on tons of clothes and/or waiting hours for them to make up their mind. Add in the heat, and some waitress accidentally spilling leftovers over me, and you got a pretty bad day. On the upside, I spend some time in a cool café (la becasse), which is vaguely like what I think the Prancing Pony looks like. Pretty low and old furniture and traditional (I would say old, but that could lead you to think stale) beer from clay jugs. I also have two new shirts, two new pants (both green cargo pants, but different), and two new vests (a greenish one, and a more casual grey one). (The sheer novelty of wearing a vest might tempt me to take some photo's, but I promise nothing as of yet.) I also decided I need to tan my legs and chest. Unfortunately, I won't be home alone for another week, so that might be delayed.
However, the biggest news (to me) is that I got my pukkelpop ticket. While shopping, I decided I might as weel drop by a selling point, and so I did.
Plans for the near future include: getting up at 7 tomorrow, go to the proclamation ceremony, see if I passed already or that I have summer classes, go home, check on my iPod, and then maybe a celebration, maybe drowning my sorrow, maybe neither.
I forgot to mention, but we paid a visit to Franco as well. He hasn't changed a bit, and he still insists on calling me von Lichtenstein/Lichtensteino. For those of you wondering where it comes from, it's from the time A knight's tale was new. Considering I shared my first name with the protagonist and was (and still am) a fan of medieval history, he decided to start calling me by the protagonists last name.

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me." 2. I will respond by asking you five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal. 3. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions. 4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post. 5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
1. When was the last time you were completely [or close to being] wasted? New year's eve. 2. What's your preffered drink and food? I dunno. Probably little meatloafs (I know no other way to describe it) 3. Favourite song? I don't have any, but the closest one is "Better of dead" by Bad Religion 4. If you could have any job, what would it be and why? (an actual profession) Probably researcher. There's just something inheritantly cool about pushing back the boundaries of the unknown. 5. What's the one place you want to visit [fictional or not or both]? Real: Ireland. Fictional: Waterdeep. |

Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter, including an explanation of what the word means to you and why. I was given the "N" by Rosey.
1. Name - Very important. The name defines a thing, something changing its nature in the process. 2. Nature - Again very important. Not only the "trees and animals" nature, but the very being of something, which is flexible and changing, but impossible to understand. 3. New - The result of change. Desirable, which is good as well, because it is unavoidable. 4. News - Other word for misinformation. 5. Now - Only kind of time there is. Now last from forever untill forever. 6. No - Absolute anwser, which is used far too much but is handy occasionally. 7. Never - The opposite of now. As such, it likely doesn't exist, but I can't say that conclusively. 8. NoFX - Punk-rock band, one of the best around. 9. North - My favourite compass point. 10. Nonsense - Art form. Also see all of the above. |

Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random. Step 2: Post the first line from the first 15 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song. Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from. Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly. Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!

The five most effective things to bribe me with:
1. Insight/enlightement (I know, really hard unless you happen to be a spiritual creature). 2. The feeling I did a good deed. 3. Concert tickets or cd's. 4. Anything wargaming/roleplaying related, but the rarer (and older) the better. 5. Lots of money.
